<p>This entry includes thiol-disulphide isomerase (TrbB), a protein that is involved in conjugative transfer of plasmid DNA, specifically in the F-type system. TrbB has been predicted to contain a thioredoxin fold, it also contains a conserved pair of cysteines and has been shown to function as a thiol disulphide isomerase by complementation of <taxon tax_id="562">Escherichia coli</taxon> DsbA mutants [<cite idref="PUB00034395"/>]. TtbB is believed to be involved in pilin assembly [<cite idref="PUB00034396"/>]. TrbB is closely related to TraF (<db_xref db="INTERPRO" dbkey="IPR014110"/>) though somewhat longer lacking the cysteine motif and is apparently not functional as a disulphide bond isomerase.</p> Type-F conjugative transfer system pilin assembly thiol-disulphide isomerase TrbB
