The bacterial protein RecR seems to play a role in a recombinational processof DNA repair []. It may act with RecF and RecO.

RecR's structure consists of a N-terminal helix-hairpin-helix (HhH) motif, followed by a Cys4 zinc-finger motif, a Toprim domain and a Walker B motif [].

This conserved site represents a putative C4-type zinc finger.
