This entry represents mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase 7 (MAP3K7), which is a component of a protein kinase signal transduction cascade, acting as a mediator of TGF-beta signal transduction. MAP3K7 stimulates NF-kappa-B (NFKB) activation and the p38 MAPK pathway. MAP3K7 binds both upstream activators and downstream substrates in multi-molecular complexes. It appears to interact with MAP3K7IP1 and MAP3K7IP2, as well as with PPM1L. The interaction of MAP3K7 with PP2A and PPP6C leads to its' repressed activity.

A small deletion of MAP3K7 and four other genes was found to be strongly associated with high-grade prostate cancers [].
Mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase 7
