This is a family of proteins, previously known as DUF62, foundin archaebacteria and bacteria. The structure of proteins inthis family is similar to that of a bacterial fluorinatingenzyme [1]. S-adenosyl-l-methionine hydroxideadenosyltransferases utilises a rigorously conserved amino acidside chain triad (Asp-Arg-His) which may have a role inactivating water to hydroxide ion [2].
