Developed by Kuniya Abe, RIKEN BioResrouce Center (Institute of Molecular Embryology and Genetics) in 1999. The transgene was injected into the pronuclei of C57BL/6J fertilized eggs. Line 18 (RBRC00821) and Line 20 (RBRC00822).
Oct-4(Pou5f1)/EGFP transgenic mice carrying EGFP cDNA under the control of the 18kb Oct-4 genomic fragment (Genomic Oct-4 Fragment of 18) by deletion in the proximal enhancer (PE). The Oct-4 gene expresses in primordial germ cells and undifferentiated spermatogonia in new born mice. This strain is useful to isolate living primordial germ cells which specifically express green fluorescent protein at various stages of embryonic development.

POU転写因子Oct-4 (Pou5f1) 遺伝子を含む18kbのゲノム断片 (Genomic Oct-4 Fragment of 18) とGFP遺伝子との融合遺伝子を導入したトランスジェニックマウス。GOF18のproximal enhancer (PE) 部は除去されている。始原生殖細胞・未分化全能性細胞特異的にGFPを発現する。
