true Fbxl5遺伝子のfloxedマウス (Floxタイプ) 。エクソン4と5がloxPで挟まれている。FBXL5は鉄代謝制御因子としてしられるSCF型ユビキチンリガーゼのF-boxサブユニットである。FBXL5遺伝子の機能を阻害すると、ホモマウスは胎生期に死亡する。さらに肝臓特異的なFBXL5コンディショナルノックアウトマウスは脂肪肝が起こり、そこに高鉄含有食を与えるとマウスが死亡する。これはFBXL5の欠損により組織に異常に鉄が沈着し、酸化ストレスが過剰になるためと考えられている。鉄代謝異常に関わる疾患等の研究に有用である。 Fbx15 gene floxed mice (Flox type).
