This family consists of several plant specific nuclear matrixprotein 1 (NMP1) sequences. Nuclear Matrix Protein 1 is aubiquitously expressed 36 kDa protein, which has no homologuesin animals and fungi, but is highly conserved among floweringand non-flowering plants. NMP1 is located both in the cytoplasmand nucleus and that the nuclear fraction is associated with thenuclear matrix. NMP1 is a candidate for a plant-specificstructural protein with a function both in the nucleus andcytoplasm [1].
