Alternate names include 7,8-diaminopelargonic acid aminotransferase, DAPA aminotransferase, and adenosylmethionine-8-amino-7-oxononanoate aminotransferase. The gene symbol is bioA in <taxon tax_id="562">Escherichia coli</taxon> and BIO3 in <taxon tax_id="4932">Saccharomyces cerevisiae</taxon> (Baker's yeast).</p>
